2020 Pizzolato® Rosso Convento Red Blend Veneto
2020 Pizzolato® Rosso Convento Red Blend Veneto
The humble dragonfly has been a symbol for many cultures over the years - of strength, of courage, of happiness. Dragonflies are also uniquely sensitive to the environment around them, and excessive chemicals used in farming will disrupt their natural rhythms. It’s fitting, then, that this insect is prominently displayed on every bottle of Pizzolato "Rosso Convento." The Pizzolato family has been producing wine for five generations on their plot of land in the Veneto, north of Treviso. They have always used organic production methods, cultivating the exact type of environment in which not only dragonflies, but all types of local flora and fauna can thrive. This is wine made the natural way. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, The Rosso Convento is a medium-bodied red that has abundant notes of jammy fruit, leather, and dried herbs. A hint of earth and fine-grained tannins make this a delight to pair with red sauce that’s packed with ripe vegetables from the garden.
